Photo Facials (IPL)

The IPL (or intense pulsed light) used at the Sudbury Skin Clinique is called Palomar Icon. IPL is used to erase mild sun damage, brown spots, freckles, pigmentation, and/or veins and redness on the face or body.

The IPL photofacial combats the effects of UV damage in two ways:

1. Firstly, it penetrates and draws out discolored cells that have formed deep in the dermis. By dissolving these cells, intense pulsed light gets rid of brown age spots and excessive freckling.

2. Secondly, because intense pulsed light is absorbed very efficiently by red blood cells, the IPL photofacial is one of the best treatments available for visible blood vessels. By minimizing redness and brown pigment, your skin tone will appear more smooth, dewy and youthful.
